Special Educational Needs Policy

Sudbourne is an inclusive school and we want to ensure all children, whatever their needs and abilities, have access to a rich and enjoyable curriculum.

Through group work and regular tracking, our experienced teaching staff can identify any learning difficulties or barriers to learning which may emerge.

Our aim is early identification of any barriers to learning, as this gives us the greatest chance of successful intervention. Teaching staff work in partnership to address any issues through a programme of support measures.

We employ a range of curriculum support teachers, learning support assistants and teaching assistants who all play a role in providing extra support where it is needed.

Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) Ms Jeanne Milstein works with teachers to support children with additional needs, track their progress and identify what measures the school needs to put in place to help them.

In addition to our SEND Policy, we have also produced two further documents to share information about SEND at Sudbourne and our plans to improve accessibility:

  • SEND Information Report

  • Accessibility Plan
