Attendance and Punctuality
At Sudbourne, each day of a child’s education is important and we don’t want them to miss out. We ask parents to make sure their children attend every day (unless they are unwell). Due to a recent change in legislation, headteachers are not permitted to authorise any absence during term time.
Punctuality and Attendance
It is very important that our pupils come to school on time. Lessons start as soon as the register has been taken; if pupils are even a few minutes late it can be confusing for them and disruptive for the class.
The gates open at 8:40am, ready for school to start at 8:50am.
Any child arriving after 8.50AM will be required to report to the main school office for late sign-in - entrance via Visitors Gate.
The school gates will close punctually at 8:50am each day to ensure the safety and security of our school site. Any child arriving after 8:50am will be required to report to the main school office via the Strathleven Road pedestrian entrance and will be marked as late and given a late pass.
If a child is absent due to illness, parents/carers must phone the school as soon as possible, this needs to be followed by one of the following:
- Completing a yellow Absence Slip (available from the school office) or
- Sending a written note confirming the reason for the absence or
- Sending an email confirming the reason for the absence to admin@sudbourne.com
Unauthorised absence and persistent lateness are taken very seriously at Sudbourne Primary School, please take the time to read our full Attendance Policy if you have any concerns.
